New book introduces German SME policies in Indonesia

The Jakarta office of the Foundation published a compilation of German laws and policies in support of small and medium sized enterprises (SME). These include the German Law on Vocational Education, the Law on German Chambers of Commerce, and the Law on the German Bank for Reconstruction (KfW). The book also presents several German initiatives by local authorities as well as the central government. It mainly focuses on the role of the national parliament, i.e. the legislative responsibilities fostering vibrant and competitive enterprises.

The laws and initiatives in this book were selected by a delegation of Members of the Indonesian Parliament who were invited by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty to visit Germany in June 2008 to study the special German policies in support of small and medium sized enterprises.

The books can be ordered from the FNF office in Jakarta:
